Coyote Hunting with the kids | Southern Utah

When the weather decides to be warm for a minute, we like to trek out on the hillside with the kids and take them Coyote hunting! It was a gorgeous day, but the wind was sure crisp! Needless to say, the kids didn't enjoy this trip as much as we'd hoped, but we tried! They were all at the tail end of a cold and the wind didn't help the matter!

One thing that I have found to help keep kids happy while hunting is to be sure to feed them at the last second possible! I don't know about your kids, but mine seem to be starving every 20 minutes so waiting as long as possible before filling their bellies has worked like a charm! Oh, and we tend to avoid sugar at all costs! It gives them a rush + a crash at the end and it just isn't a good mix on the mountain!

We love to pack snacks such as Clif Bars, applesauce pouches, peanuts, fruit strips, etc... I'm a firm believer in Amazon's Subscribe and Save Program! All of these things are delivered to my door at a much better price than in the grocery store + I don't have to shop with the kids ;)

If I pack snacks and feed the kids on the way to our destination, it keeps them in better spirits once we hit the hills!

If we don't eat in the truck, which is usually the case, I unwrap all of their Clif Bars and they eat as we walk down the hillside. Keeps them from talking + letting the Coyotes hear us coming!

Going potty is a different story.... they always say, "No" when I ask if they need to go, but as soon as we sit down... they have to go now! Anyone else feel the same?

Lesson learned-- before we leave the house + as soon as we park the truck, they must go or at least try!

Regardless of our bad luck and ability to be quiet this trip, we enjoyed our time out there together!

Thanks for stopping by!
