Keeping kids entertained at Bear Camp | Beaver Utah Hunting
As we are gearing up for bear season this year, there's one thing we've gotta say... bear hunting with kids isn't always easy. It's early mornings and late nights which can always affect everyone's mood! We have found a few things that help keep the kids happy + allow us all to keep our sanity.
If the chase is short or you haven't turned dogs out by 10 am, it starts to get too hot and we head back to camp. It's nice to have something to do for the rest of the day besides sit around with bored kids.
We always look for spots that have ample shade for obvious reasons, but it is also easier to keep the kids outside. July is hot here in Southern Utah + I don't blame them one bit for not wanting to play in it!
We cannot tell you how grateful we have been to have a river for them to play in! It kept them entertained for a few hours and allowed all of us to cool off during the day.
The water is shallow enough that I don't have to worry and everyone is happy!
We spent the day driving a few different areas looking for bear in Beaver and while we were at it, we scoped out different spots we'd love to try and camp as well.
This helps us have a plan and know where we can and cannot drive so we don't get in a tough spot with the trailer.
There's a spot by a lake that we enjoy and keeping it close to water has proven to be key for our little family to stay happy! Six people cooped up in a trailer isn't my idea of a good time ;)
