Tie-out tutorial for the dogs | The Hunting Fam | Cedar City, Utah
When gearing up for the summer bear chase, we decided we were tired of chaining each of the dogs individually and wanted something a little more functional. Dustin found these metal plates and some rebar in the shop + we have a friend with a welder, so we went to work.
The metal plates are 1/4 thick steel square washers . We welded the washers to the top of the 24 in pieces of rebar to make stakes for the tie outs. On the ends of the main line we a 2 in loop ring and the plate at the top prevents the ring on the chain from being able to come off.
Then we cut 7 pieces of chain 30 in long and attached them with a quick link every 5 ft to our main line of chain which is close to 35 ft. on the ends of the small pieces we have snap hooks. Super simple and has been easier than trying to hook dogs to different trees all around camp.
We pound a stake in each end and one in the middle of this, hook up the dogs, and we are good to go!
